Young and Alone

Every day, 43,000 children and young people experiencing homelessness in Australia face unsafe and isolating conditions. Survival isn’t entertainment for them. It’s their reality. A reality that no one is watching.

Not governments, not media, or the general public.

We worked with Yfoundations to help change this by launching something Australians would watch - a confronting new reality TV show that showed the daily battles of young people struggling to survive in one of the richest countries in the world.

We launched with a trailer and a series of teasers for the new “show” across TV, social and cinema.

We went deeper into each of our “contestants” stories through a series of social films and with Creator reaction videos.

This campaign was supported by a national contextual media buy worth a value of $3 million - the largest media donation in Australia.

Young and Alone brought the hidden youth homelessness crisis to national attention.

And just days after Young and Alone launched, the Australian Federal Government announced the launch of the very first Special Envoy for Youth Homelessness and Housing to fix the problem.
